Prospect Researcher

As of May 31, 2017, we are seeking a part-time Prospect Researcher.

 

Job Title: Prospect Researcher                      

PT 20 hours per week               

Reports To: VP of Development

 

Position Summary: Provides general and prospect research for the Development team and Chapter. Assist with prospect management updates in the prospect database.

Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Contributes to the development and implementation of processes and systems that assist with monitoring and execution of cultivation and stewardship activities
  • Supports in the development of cultivation and stewardship strategies and helps to monitor and report on related activities
  • Supports donor cultivation, recognition and stewardship events
  • Responds to a broad spectrum of high priority research requests, qualifying major gift prospects, analyzing individuals and corporate entities for giving potential and propensity to donate
  • Generates targeted constituent profiles based on tiered levels of research in areas of financial capacity, biography, profession, philanthropy, and other factors
  • Reviews and researches contact information and nature of gift for constituents who recently donated and provides data to leadership enabling them to make informed thank you calls
  • Inputs information into database, including address updates, relationships, new prospect/donor information, gift information, contact report data, etc.
  • Runs and formats prospect management reports to ensure data integrity
  • Analyzes donor and gift amount information and produces meaningful reports/graphs to show changes in donations over time
  • Performs extensive levels of demographic, financial/business, and philanthropic research on behalf of Chapter
  • Position Description is not meant to encompass all aspects of position, other duties may be assigned

 

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business, Marketing, or related field required
  • Minimum 2 years of experience using online search tools and/or using a fundraising database
  • Strong knowledge of Microsoft Suite applications; Raiser’s Edge experience preferred.

 

Working Conditions:

  • Work in an office environment
  • Some travel may be required
  • May occasionally require work outside a traditional Monday-Friday work week, and outside normal business hours
