Miranda is a fun, spunky, 14 year old girl who has Crohns disease. She wished to take a trip to Hawaii but what she really got was worth so much more.
When a child is diagnosed with a life-threatening illness, their outlook on life can sometimes change. In her wish, Miranda was welcomed with “the spirit of aloha”—a new outlook that would positively guide her dreams from that point on.
Miranda and her family had the time of their lives on their trip to Hawaii. They were picked up early in the morning at their NH home by a limo, which then transported them to the Manchester airport. The family arrived at the Honolulu airport in the evening, and each member was greeted with a traditional flower lei.
Each day an adventure was planned so the family could make the most out of their experience. Miranda enjoyed swimming at Waikiki Beach and with dolphins at the Sea Life Park, snorkeling at Hanauma Bay, visiting Pearl Harbor and the Honolulu Zoo, and taking a helicopter tour over the island of Oahu.
Miranda and her family enjoyed a vacation they never thought would be possible without the help of Make-A-Wish. Miranda now plans on going back to Hawaii to pursue her career on the islands that once brought her so much happiness.
