Eric, 12, battling leukemia loves any and all types of football. Therefore, it only made sense for him to wish to meet Patriots player Rob Gronkowski.
A wish granted is more than a dream come true for a child—it’s a life-changing experience. For 12-year-old Eric, this statement couldn’t be more accurate. Eric has always loved football. From playing flag football with his friends, to watching the New England Patriots on TV, football has always been a huge part of Eric’s life. Hailing from New Hampshire, it makes sense that the Patriots are Eric’s favorite team. For his wish, Eric met Rob Gronkowski.
“I thought Gronkowski and Brady were really cool, and I thanked them for [spending time with me],” said Eric of his wish day.
Rob Gronkowski, affectionately known as “Gronk” to fans, is Eric’s role model. Eric’s eyes light up at the mention of Gronk’s name, and he can confidently call out statistics on any of the players on the team. Tom Brady was also present at the stadium to help fulfill Eric’s wish. Playing catch with Gronk and Brady, and getting their autographs, was an extraordinary moment for Eric. It was an experience he and his family will never forget.
